Young Irelands 2-13 Conahy Shamrocks 1-11

Young Irelands sent the perfect get well present to their manager, DJ Carey, on Saturday evening.
Young Irelands looked sharp and well-organised from the outset. John Morris scored a great goal only two minutes in after good work from Paul Kehoe. Paul Kehoe then pointed himself quickly after that. Alan Healy replied for Conahy with a point and Paul Kehoe and Alan Healy traded points again five minutes later. Paul Kehoe went on to point three consecutive placed balls to give Young Irelands a seven point lead. Séan Kehoe scored a super long-range point for Gowran and his brother Paul scored another after a great sideline cut from JJ Lennon. Four converted frees from Shane Brennan kept Conahy in touch. Gowran led at the break on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-7.
Gowran continued to dominate the second half and Paul Kehoe scored a neat goal after six minutes and added four more points before the end of the game.  Conahy fought hard in the second half with Shane Brennan scoring a great goal for them near the finish but it was too late. Gowran looked solid at the back, were on top around midfield and the forwards looked dangerous throughout
