Young Irelands 0-12 Conahy 1-12
Saturday, 22nd April 2012

This game was viewed as a preview of next weeks intermediate clash with several players from both sides also likely to take to the field in that game. Unfortunately, Conahy had the upper hand here and came away with a three point victory. After being three points down at the break, 1-6 to 0-6, Gowran dominated the opening stages of the second half outscoring Conahy by four points to one to draw things level. Twice more the scores were level as each side traded scores before Conahy pulled away in the last ten minutes scoring three unanswered points. This result means the league is now over for the juniors as Conahy and Carlow Town progress from the group. Focus will now turn to the championship later in the year.
